The Magda Szabó Calendar Book will be published this year
Debrecen – Secrets and mirrors: later in the presentation, the figure of the writer will be recalled in a round table discussion.
Gyöngyi Porkoláb is associated with many cultural initiatives in Debrecen: in recent years, he has been the organizer and mastermind of large-scale events and intimate discussion programs, literary contests, and series focusing on local value. He also works hard to preserve the legacy of Magda Szabó, who was 105 years old, born on October 5 and died 15 years ago on November 19.

He worked for years on the idea of Magda Szabó’s Calendar, which was first in the hands of readers and PlanAll lovers, the published culture and literature also guides the owner in everyday life.
For Magda Szabó, “it was important to give; advice, knowledge, attention, love, patriotism. He added that if he could meet his readers, he always had an opinion on world affairs. The subtlety behind it was quite special, the struggle behind it was palpable, sometimes the fight,” Porkoláb Gyöngyi previously told Dehir about the writer, adding that
“Magda Szabó’s thoughts and the atmosphere of her novels speak to everyone, to everyone, women, men, young and old alike”.
The demanding publication will be published again this year: the Planall 2023 Magda Szabó Calendar book will be published on October 3, at the Magda Szabó Memorial House (Kossuth utca 30).
The press presentation will be attended by: Károly Fekete, bishop of the Tiszántúli Reformed Church District; László Papp, mayor of Debrecen; Ágnes Druzsin, representing the publisher LizzyCard Kft.; Gyöngyi Porkoláb, editor, production manager of the PlanAll 2023 Szabó Fertility Calendar; Panni Epres, mannequin-fashion model and Gergő Dánielfy, musician, performer. The presentation will be hosted by Erzsébet Perla, a teacher at the Dóczy high school. Speaker at the presentation: Zita Dobos.
After the presentation, a round-table discussion entitled Secrets and Mirrors will be held in the Dóczy Gymnázium Díszterme (Kossuth u. 35) from 6 p.m.
