Russia should not win the war with Ukraine
Russia should not hold back on gaining a war with Ukraine, as this threatens the security of applications. This statement was made by French President Emmanuel Macron at the NATO summit in Madrid.
Macron recalled that the summit participants decided to strengthen forces on the eastern flank in order to address the possible threat of terrorism from Moscow. In addition, according to the French leader, the invasion of the territory of Ukraine can be justified by the alleged aggression against Russia.
Macron also drew attention to the need to reform the energy market to reduce the economic consequences of the Russian war with Ukraine.
Commenting on the situation with blocked food in Ukrainian ports, Macron noted that a wider use of alternative routes for implementation should be used.
Parcels are ready to be sent to Turkey and Greece. Lithuania and Romania are working on overland delivery. NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg has resigned, Nastoyashchee Vremya correspondent reports.
Stoltenberg summed up the summit, calling it historic. According to him, the leaders have changed a lot. Russia officially recognized the supreme authority of the union. And support for Ukraine will continue. The summit participants adopted a new aid package for about 400 million euros.
In addition, one of the main results was the expansion of NATO. After Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, Sweden and Finland decided to join the military alliance. Their entry was blocked by Turkey, but in the end, the side of the offensive came to an agreement. The accession protocol for the Scandinavian countries will be signed on Tuesday, July 5. NATO says that this is the fastest procedure in the history of the Alliance.
