The Spartans didn’t bring transfer tickets, that’s why he became Stanislav Levý Klokan. He hurriedly had them in his hand
“Jard Houšek’s secretary came home with Spartan treasurer Mr. Markvart and brought me a huge flag. They knew that I was a fan of Sparta and that in our village they even organize trips to league and cup matches at Letná. For me, it was something surreal that it was Sparta who called and offered me a transfer,” admits Stanislav Levý decades later in the next episode of the program Kopačky na hříběku, that he was missing a bit and instead of Botič, he headed to Letná.
“However, Spartan officials did not have transfer tickets with them at the time. If they came with them and put them on the table, I would immediately sign and there would be nothing to discuss,” he confirms that he would not hesitate for a minute and play in a red jersey under coach Ježek.
“Bohemka took advantage of it. After Cheb’s promotion to the league, coach Tomáš Pospíchal came to see me with secretary Zdenek Svoboda. Just when we met, we were celebrating in one of the Cheb procedures. Although Sparta offered me better conditions, the two of them convinced me that Bohemka would be a better solution for me in terms of sports. Of course, they had the transfer tickets with them, so I signed on the spot,” Stanislav Levý described in the Sport.cz studio how his transfer to Botič came about.

He transferred the goal that he scored a lot in Meteor and during his military service in Cheb, which he helped to advance from II. league to the highest competition.
“That’s why I ended up prolonging the war in Cheb. Of course already as a civilian employee. Just before retiring to civilian life, I scored two goals in the second league match in Neratovice, I scored three and won 6:2. Because they wanted me to stay at Red Star not just for two or three months longer, but for a long time. I wouldn’t be against it. Especially when I met my future wife there before qualifying for the league against Frýdek-Místek,” recalls Stanislav Levý, how fate played with him.
After all, also in Bohemians. They brought him in as a center forward, but coach Pospíchal turned him into a full-back after a while. “I actually played everywhere. I didn’t stand in the front, in the back, in the middle row, just in the gate. On the one hand, it was good for me, but it was not optimal for the national team. In addition, before each representative nomination, I could be sure that I would drop out of Bohemka’s lineup. The coach was not happy when we left for the national team meetings. He claimed that there is no training there at all and nothing is done there,” Stanislav Levý returned four decades back in time with a smile.
It goes without saying that memories of Tomáš Pospíchal came up. It makes you wonder why the Kangaroos won only one championship title in the 1980s, even though they had the squad to collect far more. After all, Stanislav Levy became a coach after his active career ended, and that is why he looks at the Kangaroo team from a different perspective.
By the way, even at his coaching station, there was talk of a nail in Kopačky. Did you know why he left for Albania after an unsuccessful courtship with Slavia Prague? And have you already heard the experiences that he brought with him there? About the drug addict who fired a machine gun in the stands during a league game? About the bus that broke down in the mountains just as Stanislav Levý was traveling with his team to a league game?
And do you know, for example, how years later he compensated his wife for not taking her to the celebration of the championship title that the Kangaroos won in 1983?
The defender of Bohemians and the Czechoslovak national team, later the coach of Žižkov’s Viktorka, Pilsen, Zlín, Slovácko, but also the Albanian Korc and Vlora or the Polish Slask Wroclaw, and football commentator, glossary and expert Stanislav Levý in the next installment of Kopaček na hříbík, talk about all this.
Therefore, a pleasant listen, because this narrative is definitely worth listening to.
