Today we ceremonially put the unique K2 tram into operation in Prague. Its design was influenced by two famous designs Frantiek Kardaus, the author of the design of the iconic tram line, and Miroslav Navrtil, who designed the fiberglass seats. With the transport company, we want to be pioneers in the modernization of public transport and ensure passenger comfort and convenience similar to modern cars, but at the same time we aim to popularize Prague transport by means of historic cars, said Adam Scheinherr, Deputy Mayor of Prague. m of Prague for the area of transport and chairman of the DPP supervisory board.

According to Scheinherr, the K2 tram will be deployed primarily on the historic line. 42. It is such a nice day to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Public Transport Museum, which we will remember with dignity this year, said the Deputy Mayor.

The Tatra K2 trams were developed as a kind of generation of domestic estinpravov link tram ideas following the T3 series. In the history of the Slovak tram industry, it became an essential milestone for pedestrians to articulated vehicles, the first of this type designated in the version for the domestic market as K2, for the then Soviet Union K2SU and for Yugoslavia K2YU.

The K2 prototype was built in 1966 and its size tests took place in the streets of Prague, where it drove without passengers with the registered 7001. The track was presented at the International Fair Brno 1966, where it was carried by the 7000, and after returning from the fair, the operation in Most and Litvnov. After completing the examination, the vehicle was transferred to Brno in January 1968, where it received registration number 607 (later 1007) and served there in regular service until 1988.

Symbolicch 7000

In the framework of the retro operation, we are trying to present the most important descending Tatra tram from the latest historical period of the 50s and 60s, which is characterized by the especially exceptional design of the Czech artist Frantika Kardaus, to Jan urovsk, only the board of directors and technical editor of DPP Spručer.

The trams contributed the record word symbolically. Originally, the very first cable car manufactured in Slovakia, type K1 from 1964, was tested with it in Prague, and for a short time it was also carried by the prototype of the K2 tram, and under this name it was exhibited at the Brno International Fair in 1966, Urovsk added.

Vz DPP registered sla 7000 was produced in 1977 in KD Tatra Prague and delivered to Bratislava as the last K2 tram. From the beginning, the Bratislava transport company used it only as a vehicle for driving training under the registration number 394.

In 1983, he was a breeder at 8133. In 2009, after 32 years of service, the K2 trainer was tied up and shut down at the Krasany railway station in Bratislava, and would never be put into service with passengers. Due to this, the tram did not pass the necessary structural rights, and thus the preservation room with many original elements was spared.
