Trial with a tyrant: Jakub tortured his girlfriend and her children – he bit his son, threw his head on the ground
As Jakub himself admitted in court, so far he has not been very successful in leading an orderly life. His original marriage broke up years ago due to his drug addiction. He and his current girlfriend were born in 2018 and started living together. At that time, however, I had no idea what the future held.
Crushed finger and bites!
According to the indictment, Jakub made her life literally hell. At first, he should have cursed his girlfriend, later banned contact with her close friend. In the course of joint arguments, he was then supposed to gradually start to fall for her, in an increasingly brutal manner. He was supposed to go from pushing to slapping and later even punching his head.
According to the indictment, he didn’t just stop at hitting her in the head, he was supposed to pull the girlfriend’s hair, in one case even in such a way that he dragged her on the ground by her hair. But even that is not the worst thing in the indictment. He even had to jump on his girlfriend’s back, while she was lying on the ground.
Or he should have also broken her knuckle into several pieces after twisting her fingers on the palm she used to protect her face. The damaged girlfriend from Jakub was so terrified that she even urinated during some arguments, fearing for her health. To top it all off, her two preschool-aged children had to watch all of this.

He was supposed to gradually start turning his aggression against his girlfriend’s son as well, according to the indictment, he often humiliated him with words like “mommy” or “little girl”. Later, he was also supposed to be open-handed and hit once with a wooden spoon six times. “For example, the accused bit the victim until he had bruises, held him tightly by the neck or chest. In at least two cases, the accused showered the dressed victim with ice water until v in at least one case, the victim urinated,” was heard from the mouth of public prosecutor Barbora Kvášová when the indictment was read.
Head on the ground
All this should have culminated on June 6 of last year in her apartment in Prague 4, when, under the strong influence of drugs and alcohol, he got into more arguments with his girlfriend. The six-year-old boy was supposed to be beaten on the buttocks and back with a belt that day, throwing it against the bed with such force that it damaged its bed frame. But his spree did not end there. He was going to give the boy a few more runs with his palm and fist. The final climax was when he lifted the little boy up in the air by the ankles and hit the ground with it in such a way that it landed on the tiles with a thud.
He should have brutally squeezed the bump he caused him and called the boy a simulant. “Further, the accused dropped the television and the cabinet in the minor’s bedroom and slapped him on the head with such force that his head turned.
After part of this attack, the common two-year-old daughter was also present, who she repeated the accused’s behavior by hitting her brother’s bed with her fists,” the indictment says. The intervention of rescuers and the police came after Jakub went to take a shower. During that time, his girlfriend managed to call the IZS and lock the front door. From the scene, Jakub went straight to detention, the six-year-old boy to the faculty’s Thomayer hospitalwhere he had to lie for 4 days.
“Educational punishments”
In his statement, Jakub somewhat relativized most of these facts. According to him, the arguments with his girlfriend were caused by the use of meth, which he said was mutual. According to him, the violence was also two-sided.

He described their coexistence at a time when violence should have already occurred as idyllic, and the broken finger, for example, explained horse accident: “My girlfriend broke her little finger while working with horses, she flew with it for three days, and only then did I take her to Radotín, where they repaired it,” he told the court. He interpreted the violence against the six-year-old boy as educational physical punishments. “It’s true that in retrospect, I often overdid it and from today’s perspective I was punishing him for complete smut. I’m very sorry for that in retrospect,” admitted the accused Jakub.
According to him, Jakub doesn’t remember much of the fateful day due to meth intoxication. However, according to his testimony, he is aware that he overdid it that day: “My girlfriend came to the bar for me, she wanted me to go home, so I went, I don’t know exactly what was in front of the bar, I don’t want to lie, I don’t know what happened. We had a fight at home, she blamed me for being drunk and drugged, then I drank a bottle of rum at home to show her what drunkenness looks like. Around five in the morning I went to get another gingerbread.”
Hallucinations from drugs
He tackled the six-year-old boy that morning because his girlfriend said he was acting strange, which stuck in his mind under the influence of drugs and he decided to solve the violence. “He annoyed me with something, I took him and threw him on the bed, but on a thick mattress, nothing could happen. I focused only on this boy, I was like obsessed, something about him bothered me. I saw some kind of devil in him, I was probably high on drugs“, Jakub told the court.
Up to 12 years in prison
For his actions, he is now facing several criminal charges, such as mistreatment of a trusted person, mistreatment of a person living in a common dwelling, crime of serious bodily harm in the stage of attempt or dangerous threat. In total, he faces up to 12 years behind bars. At the end of Thursday’s trial, the defendant requested the trial panel to be released from custody, but his request was not granted.
