Russia and China to restore visa-free exchange of tourists through Primorye checkpoints
Parameters for the restoration of a visa-free regime for tourists through a pass in the Primorsky Territory for the coordination of protocols between Russia and China. This was announced today, January 26, by TASS with reference to the director of the Primorsky Territory Tourism Agency Arseniy Krepsky.
“The main approvals of state regulatory authorities to ensure visa-free exchange through a pass on the territory of the Primorsky Territory of receipt. Currently, the mechanism of electronic registration of lists of tourist groups is being approved. This is a credit for extra time due to the celebration of the Eastern New Year and public holidays in the PRC,” Krepsky wrote on his telegram channel.
He said that a meeting of the Interdepartmental Commission is scheduled for February 8, within the framework of which the current procedure for implementing the agreement between the Russian Federation and the PRC on visa-free group trips will be repeated.
Since January 8, China has significantly eased a number of anti-COVID restrictions that have been in place since 2020, abolishing mandatory centralized quarantine and PCR testing for those departing from abroad. In addition, the Chinese authorities have adjusted civil policy measures. In particular, they resumed issuing entry and exit permits and issuing passes to enter and exit the country’s border areas, as well as obtaining permits for Chinese citizens to obtain passports to gain access to visit or visit friends.
