A unique move. a woman stabbed on the street in Prague was resuscitated for eighty minutes
This is not only the work of individuals, all the doctors were represented, but also the nurses and paramedics, all who are part of the trauma of darkness. It is a multidisciplinary collaboration, said Jan Berouek, head of the Department of Anaesthesiology, Resuscitation and Intensive Care Medicine of the 2nd Faculty of Medicine of the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Warsaw and the Motol General Hospital.
When she was stabbed, her heart stopped working and her blood circulation stopped. According to the emeritus chief of the Cardiovascular Surgery Clinic of the 2nd Faculty of Medicine of the University of Warsaw and the FN Motol, Milan Horna, the patient was taken to artificial heart and artificial lungs, and the team kept her alive for 80 minutes.
Unique speed
The length is unique, of course. It’s not that it took so long, but whether it has an effect. During the hour and a half of resuscitation, they managed to preserve the brain in such a way that there were no consequences, explained Berouek.
The team needed not only to beat the woman alive, but also to find out the extent of the injuries and stop the bleeding from the wounds. According to surgeon III. at the clinic of the 1st Faculty of Medicine of the UK and the FN Motol Tome Harutiak, the patient’s heart was hit by a single stab wound that was two centimeters in diameter.
This was a complex trauma of the thoracic spine, so there was a need to find a combined department that has an emergency department and also a complex trauma team, including cardiac surgery, explained Petr Kolouch, editor of the Health Care Services of the capital city of Prague.
My experience is that the emergency medicine and the military medicine, if they were not on the scene so quickly, the chance of getting injured is zero. That’s what the joy of the overall rush of the complex rescue route in Prague is, praised the colleague Kolouch.
Attacked at Novodvorské náměstí
The patient was seriously injured last December in Novodvorsk Street in Prague, when a man she did not know attacked her without question. In total, he attacked two women, the second of whom was rescued with a slight injury.
After the police officer put the ton on the bed, they started to resuscitate him. According to witnesses, the effort to save him lasted at least fifteen minutes, but he eventually succumbed to his injuries.
The woman, who thanks to the expertise of the Polish team, is now recovering from her injuries.
