“Reopen the investigations on the Monster of Florence”. The request arrives again, there is a new development in one of the most discussed news cases in Italy.
The lawyer Alessio Fioravanti has requested the reopening on behalf of Luciano Malatesta, Milva’s brother. She the latter was found lifeless together with her 3-year-old son in her car on the Poneta road in Barberino Tavarnelle. It was August 20, 1993. It was Milva Malatesta
“A common thread would link the deaths of Milva Malatesta, her child Mirko and her father Renato to the crimes of the monster of Florence and those of Florentine prostitutes that took place in the 80s” says the lawyer. “Milva Malatesta was the daughter of Maria Antonietta Sperduto, the woman who accused Mario Vanni and Pietro Pacciani of raping her, and of Renato Malatesta, who was found hanged on Christmas Eve 1980 in her home in Sambuca”.
Fioravanti, son of the Pietro who defended Pacciani in the investigation, continues: “There is a connection between one of the victims of the monster of Florence and the death of one of the prostitutes, which remained unsolved. Studying the documentation, my collaborators and I have found a significant detail. But I can’t say more, investigations covered by preliminary secrecy are underway”.
