Russia will not take part in the 2024 Olympics
The International Olympic Committee received a mandate against Russia in force. This means that Russian athletes will not take part in the upcoming Summer Olympic Games, which are scheduled to be held from July 26 to August 11, 2024 in Paris. This became known from a publication on the IOC website. Also, Belarus will not be able to take part in the Games.
In the territories of the affected States, there will be no sporting events applicable for the specific purposes of the federations. Symbols of Russia and Belarus are prohibited at all tournaments. In addition, the Olympic orders will be withdrawn from the President of Russia and the appointment of the Prime Minister.
“Participation in the nobility has reached the exceptional nobility of the athlete and respect for the rules of the sport. Another thing is that in some countries the safety of athletes from Russia and Belarus can no longer be guaranteed,” the IOC noted.
By the way, as you know, it became known that Kamil Valiev could quit for four years and cancel her results. Recall that during the last Olympics, a doping scandal broke out around Kamila Valieva. In the sample of the athlete, which she passed in December 2021, a banned substance was found. They wanted to remove her from capture, but literally a day before the start of the tragic event, a decision was made to admit her woman to the tournament.
