Important to know: Solar compulsory on the Großmünster
#38 –
Ruedi Widmer on FC Zurich, Elizabeth II and solar energy
The canton of Zurich now has a state-imposed solar requirement. The point is that all buildings in the canton must be equipped with solar cells (I myself have had some on the roof since the summer). All buildings: Central Station, Provisional Globe, Grossmünster.
While solar energy is taking the roofs, the monarchy is taking the streets.
With the folks walking after Queen Elizabeth’s coffin on Monday, I wonder how one actually becomes illustrious. I understand. Stabbed with a leek? Or does that happen, similar to Uriella in 1973, when you fall from a horse on your head while riding in the Scottish Highlands? Then she had the enlightenment – an experience that helps you to get a deep insight into the world of vegetable growing and market driving. Individuals then even become the mouthpiece of the leek and spread the corresponding breath among their followers. A later look at Wikipedia is sobering, however, because “erlaucht” is a Middle High German version of “enlightened”, so it’s not a joke at all. So far the “punch line” of this section.
Every human being has a vein in the ankle with blue blood flowing through it.
I don’t understand the protest against the well-known monarchy. The Queen was most likely our Queen. Or who, as a Swiss, feels represented by Japan’s Emperor Naruhito, Saudi Arabia’s Salman ibn Abd al-Aziz, Liechtenstein’s Prince Hans-Adam or Thailand’s King Maha Vajiralongkorn? The fewest. Everyone has, whether they know it or not, a monarchical side, a tiny vein at the ankle with blue blood running through it.
With us republicanized Swiss, this vein is only stimulated by the authorities on Epiphany. However, I myself have had some blue veins on my legs for some time, which may indicate royal origins. I have to see the court doctor.
FC Zurich died last Sunday after losing to Lausanne-Sport. He reached the old age of 126 years. At the end of his public appearances he was weak, blue and white as chalk. A whole city (Zurich) is in deep mourning. After all, this FC Zurich has been around for ages, and no one can trust someone in whose life FC Zurich has not yet been a football club. The funeral is next Monday. The club is exhibited over the weekend on a catafalque, catalyst or catamaran in the Letzigrund and then, pulled by 126 Ultras, travels in mourning on a train through district four and across the Limmat to Greatminster Abbey. Mr. and Mrs. Canepa, head coach Franco Foda, his sister Jane Fonda and all the players of the club walk behind the coffin carriage. They are followed by 215 presidents, Elton John, King Charles, Mario Fehr and other showbiz celebrities.
FC Zurich is buried right next to FC Winterthur, who died two weeks ago.
Somehow the enlightenment won’t let go of me. From time to time one also hears “Your Highness”, which then – we now know about the “shining” – should mean fluoroscopy. I don’t think a King Charles needs to be x-rayed at the airport or you’d see all the swallowed crowns, pens and hunting trophies. But maybe the media screening is meant more. In contrast to the secretive queen, Charles has been so scrutinized by the media in recent centuries that as king he is now as transparent as a jellyfish.
It all makes no sense, which I think is the real purpose of a royal family.
Ruedi Widmer is pretty pointless in Winterthur.
