Debrecen – From now on, the DSZC will provide a mentor team consisting of students from the University of Debrecen with current information on vocational training opportunities. Mentors help schoolchildren in small towns with their studies and career choices.
The vocational training offer and the conscious, well-founded career choice are also discussed in the lectures based on which the mentor of the University of Debrecen will participate in his 114 students on Thursday in the center of the DSZC. The university has been participating in the Let’s Teach for Hungary program for four years. It prepares and supports the applicants so that the mentors can provide effective learning and life support to elementary school students in small settlements.
– We have been dealing with approximately six hundred primary school children so far, in the 2021/22 academic year two hundred and twenty of our primary school children graduated from the program in Hajdú-Bihar county primary schools – at the end of 13 schools – and all of them finished the 8th grade and went on to secondary school – said Péter Forisek, the Director General of the Teacher Training Center of the University of Debrecen.
From now on, the Debrecen Vocational Training Center provides mentors working with primary school students with up-to-date information on the current possibilities of vocational training adapted to the labor market.
– This program extension student is a kind of opportunity, since he can reach as many bases as possible and present to as many students the possibility that vocational training means a future, an opportunity, a career – we offer this to the mentored young people – pointed out Zsolt Tirpák, the Chancellor of DSZC.
From now on, the supported elementary school students will also participate in the DSZC’s career guidance events together with their university mentors.
