The hosts started the match much more actively and accurately, experimenting with scoring goals both from near and far, so Levente Jova had to make some heroic saves to prevent the Angels from falling behind. Based on the picture of the game, it was a surprise that the newcomer turned the first dangerous counterattack into a goal and took the lead in the 21st minute courtesy of Zsombor Berecz.
Eight minutes later, Vasas found themselves with a man disadvantage because Baráth Botond received a red card for a rough foul against Donát Bárány. DVSC’s momentum was somewhat broken by the goal, and the superiority in numbers did not change either, in the remaining time until the break, it could no longer keep its opponent under pressure with dangerous actions, so after halftime, the capital city took a 1-0 lead.
After the break, Krisztofer Horváth, confirmed on Wednesday, made his debut in the DVSC and NB I. He will play in three matches in the Italian top flight for SPAL in 2020. The attacking midfielder, who was the home goal king of NB II Szeged last season, arrived in Debrecen on loan from Torino FC.
At the beginning of the second half, the Angyalföldi team confidently maintained their advantage, sometimes defending six in one line, and although in the continuation the home team again tried to play more accurately, more agilely and with dangerous shots, then Jova once again showed feats in the goal. Debrecen played football and attacked more and more, and in the 86th minute, when Saná Gomes passed, Jova ran out of the goal from his own team.
