Zach finally signed in Boston. They will improve financially compared to the Devils
Boston has been announcing one new signing after another throughout Monday. Bruins management retained Patrice Bergeron and also announced the return of David Krejčí. And now Pavel Zacha has also signed in Boston. He will spend the following season at the club and will receive 3,500,000 dollars (84 million crowns).
Zacha was a protected free agent and facing arbitration. However, that didn’t happen, and Boston management finally signed him to a one-year contract. In addition, the native of Brno will improve financially. With the Devils, he took $3 million last year, now five hundred thousand more. In conversion, it makes a total of 84 million crowns.
The 25-year-old Czech forward joined the Bruins just from the Devils, and this will be his second team in the NHL. On the other hand, Erik Haula traveled to New Jersey.
For Zacha, last season was his best in his NHL career so far. He scored 36 points (15+21) in 70 games. Of course, he will want to surpass this performance in the Bruins, and two other Czechs can also help him. A complete Czech line can thus be created. Pastrňák with Zacha on the wings and David Krejčí in the center.
But after this transfer, the Bruins management is also dealing with problems. With this signing, they went over the salary cap and it’s clear that someone will have to leave.
