Conditions for Russia’s victory and the fate of Donbass. Former US Secretary of State Kissinger voiced three scenarios for the conflict in Ukraine
Former US Secretary of State Henry Kissinger gave interview with The Spectator, where they put forward three options for the development of events in Ukraine. Analysts also point to protection against China and Iran.
About Russia and the conflict in Ukraine
Kissinger outlined three scenarios for the development of hostilities on the territory of Ukraine:
- Russia remains in its current positions, and then 20% of the territories of Ukraine will be under its control.
- Russia offers controlled Ukrainian regions, as well as Crimea.
- Russia returns to positions until February 24, 2022.
According to the expert, the first scenario can be considered a victory for Russia, because it controls 20% of Ukraine, Donbass, an important industrial and agricultural territory, as well as the coastline of the Montenegrin Sea. Kissinger believes that this will cover all the losses of Moscow. If the second scenario is implemented, the events turn into a full-fledged, large-scale war, and then the West will inevitably be completed, the analyst is sure. Kissinger, this can be considered a “defeat of Russia” because Ukraine can rearm.
In addition, the conflict between Moscow and Kyiv is frozen, and NATO will be strengthened at the expense of Finland and Sweden, the former US Secretary of State predicted. At the same time, Ukraine will become a foreign land disaster in Europe, linked to NATO, the Islamic Republic of Kissinger.
In December 2021, the Russian Foreign Ministry published draft treaties with the US and NATO on mutual security guarantees. Some of the proposed proposals that Russia received were guaranteed by the alliance that the bloc would not expand further to the east, and Ukraine and Georgia, in particular, would not be accepted into NATO. In January, Russia conducted a three-round test with the United States, the North Atlantic Alliance and initiatives on proposed security assurances. The West did not promise that the alliance would not further expand its presence in production.
About China
The US believes that China can be persuaded to accept the rules of the West, but this approach to Beijing is unacceptable, used by Kissinger. According to him, the PRC will strive to achieve the solution of the tasks set for itself, while the army only decides to help, to help in favor of these goals.
To regulate with China, the country must be no less powerful than the PRC, but at the same time respect it, conduct an equal dialogue, Kissinger says. The administrations of the presidents of two Americans (Donald Trump and Joe Biden), the former secretary of state noted, always found themselves blaming Beijing for something, while Washington’s position on Taiwan only worsened the situation. According to politicians, relations between the two countries are currently at an impasse.
About Iran
Kissinger is sure that there is no alternative to Iran’s renunciation of international weapons, because there will be no peace in the East in the East. He said there was a possibility of an Israeli pre-emptive strike on Iran because Jerusalem could not afford to wait for other countries to agree on exactly how to stop Iran from developing a nuclear bomb. In addition, Egypt and Saudi Arabia were closely watching, said the former head of the US State Department.
