Germany was approaching the rationing of gas supplies after supplies from Russia.
The German economy ministry has launched the second of three phases of a plan to manage gas reserves amid shortages stemming from a conflict between the union and Russia following its full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
German Economics Minister Robert Habeck said that Russia is using gas as a weapon in response to the EU regulation.
Germany has now entered the second phase of its three-part action plan. This plan is designed for situations where there are interruptions or increased demand for gas.
However, the authorities do not pass on rising costs to consumers, although this is formally required for this right.
Twelve countries, including the reduction of gas consumption in Russia, was announced on Thursday by the European Commission’s Vice President for climate control France Timmermans.
Russia accounts for a significant share of its Nord Stream 1 gas pipeline’s capacity of up to 40%, citing definition problems. The reduction in probability affected several countries, including Germany.
Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on Thursday that Moscow values its reputation as a reliable supplier and is reducing pipeline service offerings in Europe.
According to Peskov, “there is an establishment of technological cycles of maintenance and operation.”
At the same time, other countries are rarely observed receiving fuel through other pipelines, for example, in Italy.
Russia has previously used gas supplies to Poland, Bulgaria, the Netherlands, Denmark and Finland due to their refusal to comply with the new ruble payment scheme.
