On foot from Rijssen to Amsterdam
The 18 year old Kyan Stoelhorst from Markelo has completed a challenge. Together with 6 fellow students from the Veva training of ROC van Twente, we took on the challenge of walking from Rijssen to Amsterdam. Last Monday the time had come, and after a good breakfast with one of the students, the students set out from Rijssen. With a package on which they went to Deventer, they spent their first night in the forest on the IJssel.
A long trip through the Veluwe followed on the second day, later an overnight stay was created in a meadow at a sheep farmer. This farmer surprised the group in the evening with homemade frikandels. Day three the journey continued with sore feet and blisters towards Nijkerk. There they spent the night after a good plate of spaghetti at a farmer’s under the barn. On the fourth day, the group walked 30 kilometers and found a place to stay overnight in Hilversum. Friday morning the journey continued towards Amsterdam. The 6 students arrived at Dam Square proud and satisfied.
In total, the group walked 130 kilometers. Family members and friends are obviously very proud of this achievement of the group and the achievement of their challenge. Kyan was surprised when he arrived home in Markelo. The flag flew and he was warmly welcomed by the Moat’n.
