Slovenia the most crypto-friendly country in the world (study)
A survey by the airline Fast Private Jet estimated that the Central European country – Slovenia – is the most crypto-friendly country in the world. In addition, its capital – Ljubljana – is the most pleasant destination in Europe for companies with digital assets.
Central Europe leads
Airline based in Italy – Fast Private Jet – carried out a global study to determine which countries have the most venues where cryptocurrencies are accepted as a means of payment. Slovenia was in first place, followed by another Central European country – the Czech Republic. Argentina, Japan, Spain and Colombia were in the top 6.
Slovenia has 72 shops and 33 sports venues that accept bitcoin or altcoin as a means of payment. Its capital – Ljubljana – is also the most crypto-friendly destination in Europe. It currently has more than 137 companies and 584 different locations that allow digital funds to be paid for, and its largest shopping mall is called “BTC City”.
Prague – the capital of the Czech Republic – is the second most crypto-friendly European destination. Among its crypto attractions is the Parallel Polis cafe, where customers can only pay in bitcoins.
The third most cryptocurrency city in Europe is the Spanish Madrid, while Malta is ranked at the bottom of this statistic.
The Fast Private Jet study also touched on the US. It revealed that New York, Los Angeles and San Francisco have the most restaurants, cafes and businesses that accept cryptocurrencies as a means of payment.
Not surprisingly, China is among the least crypto-friendly countries in the world. Last year, local authorities imposed a total ban on all digital asset efforts on Chinese soil.
Oman, Egypt, Algeria, Qatar, Iraq, Tunisia, Morocco and Bangladesh also have a hostile attitude towards industry and have been placed next to China.
Earlier this month, a Coincub survey estimated that Germany is the most crypto-friendly country for the first quarter of 2022, while Singapore and the US are second and third, respectively. However, the company’s study differed from the Fast Private Jet study in that it took into account factors such as cryptocurrency laws in different countries, the number of fraud cases, and the availability of digital asset rates.
Slovenia is among the countries that are most ‘crypto ready’
This is not the first time that the Central European nation has found its place in similar studies. Last year, the platform for digital assets – Crypto Head – found that Slovenia is the 7th most “crypto-prepared” country with an index of 5.96.
To conduct the survey, the company combined several factors, including annual crypto searches on Google per 100,000 people and the number of ATMs.
Given that the U.S. has more than 30,000 crypto ATMs, it was no wonder they ranked first. Interestingly, the Mediterranean island of Cyprus ranked second.
