World music, jazz, workshops, family programs: Ritmo Picnic will also start in Debrecen
Debrecen – In Déri Square, Dósa Nádor Square and the Nagyerdei Water Tower Garden we can listen to the best world musicians. The concerts are free to attend.
The Ritmo world music picnic will move to Miskolc, Debrecen and Győr for a few days: during the day you can take part in family classes and workshops, and in the evenings you can discover new bands in the iconic place of the city during the Bartók Spring. You can also see the crazy speedfolk of Bohemian Betyars, the traditional Hungarian gypsy music of Romengo in Hungary and Mónika Lakatos and Mihály Dresch, or Sena, who won this year’s Kossuth Prize, who are now playing African pop music in an unusual formation. The concerts are free to attend.
The first Ritmo Picnic was organized in 2020 in Budapest. The first Budapest exploration festival was such a success that it will be held in other cities as part of the Bartók Spring International Week this year: on April 22–23 in Miskolc, on April 29–30 in Győr.
The people of Debrecen can take part in exciting concerts twice, on April 29-30 and May 4-5. They have selected bands that bravely deviate from the usual genre framework, bringing their songs from different cultures with them.
In Debrecen you can listen to the best world musicians in Déri Square, Dósa Nádor Square and the Nagyerdei Water Tower Garden: the psychedelic rock of Nasip Kısmet, the Caribbean-Colombian dance music of Los Orangutanes or the Kossuth Prize-winning Mihály Dresch Ballo Ethnic Trio
In May, MORDAI will bring its creepy folk rock to Irie Mafia singer Sena with Ghanaian singer Worlasi for an adventure in contemporary African pop music – but other DJ sets are also waiting for those interested.
