The United States suddenly eased anti-Russian sanctions. Now the country is allowed to import software, hardware, services and technologies, one way or another related to telecommunications, the Internet, communication on the Web. No relief data has been established.
The US has gone rogue
The US authorities have revised the sanctions investigation against Russia using its indulgence. By decision of the US Treasury, restrictions were lifted on the supply of telecommunications equipment to the country, as well as hardware for working and using the Internet.
On changes to the general license published by the Ministry of Finance (download file is available from the CNews file server). According to its text, permission to use also telecommunications services, software and technologies.
First of all, it captures the fast exchange of messages, documents and media content. Such easings take place in everything related to videoconferencing, chatting and e-mail communication, as well as through social networks, web surfing, web hosting, blogging. An individual scheme that does not require the use of domain name registration services.
Biden is in no hurry to comment on the US Treasury
Separately, the document says that the United States continues to prohibit “opening or maintaining correspondent accounts or transactional accounts for or on behalf of” managed by Russian financial institutions. In addition, “any signing of funds on the balance sheet of the American Financial Meeting, joining the Bank of Russia, the National Welfare Fund or the Russian Ministry of Finance” is still prohibited.
No specifics
The US Department of the Treasury does not drown out what exactly was the reason for turning off the pressure on Russia in general and on each of its citizens in particular. Recall that it is the United States that is the initiator of anti-Russian meetings. American President Joseph Biden (Joseph Biden) warned in December 2021 that he would deprive Russia of smartphones and car parts if it decides to launch a special operation. At the beginning of 2022, he confirmed his intentions and became generous in case of new restrictions.
The new document of the Ministry of Finance does not say that the meeting of the Assembly will not take place right now. Telecommunication messages can be considered, for example, both base stations and mobile communications – the same smartphones. They also plan to define devices for communication in instant messengers, while computers are allowed to be used in the Republic for video conferencing and web surfing.
“All operations, emissions in the usual manner and necessary for the receipt or transmission of telecommunications with the participation of Russia are allowed,” the document of the Ministry of Finance says. It also states that it now allows “export or re-export, sale or supply, directly or indirectly, from the United States or by US citizens, regardless of where they are located, in Russia of services, software, hardware or technology that are covered.” the areas listed.
What does this mean for Russia
Since the end of February 2022, almost all the main states of the world have been against Russia. First of all, it is the USA and European countries. The greatest damage to the Russians falls precisely on the American tax, since the United States has leverage on a company registered in the country.

A striking example is the European contract electronics manufacturer TSMC from Taiwan. It uses American technology in its activities and is therefore forced to obey the decisions of the United States. In anticipation of 2022, he completely froze the production of Russian Baikal and Elbrus processors.
Also, because of the powers of the United States, American IT companies are invading en masse. Apple widely sold all its equipment, AMD did the same with processors, and Intel quickly returned all its activities in Russia.
In the list of American companies that have greatly complicated the life of the Russians after their departure, the number of which is increasing at least IBM, Red Hat, Oracle, Adobe and, of course, Microsoft. The latter, however, takes the consequences.
With regard to telecommunications equipment, which is expected to have a higher loyalty to the United States, here Russia finds more representatives of European countries. Russia does not have its own hardware for cellular networks – its Swedish company Ericsson and Finnish Nokia, which are also currently boycotting the Russian market.
Europe has left the Russians without Ubuntu, the most popular Linux distribution in the world. But here, unlike the “iron sphere”, Russia has not lost anything, since the country has domestic constantly updated distributions.
