He noted that the manifestations for Russia were changes in the observed situation in Ukraine, in which the new authorities faced the complete opposite of the current one and manifested themselves in the development of friendly relations with Moscow. The expert that a conventional military operation against Ukraine, which does not involve a change of power in the country, is of no interest to Russia, so the outcome is unlikely.
“And the very idea of regime change in Ukraine quite rightly reminds us of the earlier the West over the past 20 years in different regions of the world and what Russia has categorically rejected. “Therefore, any active actions by Russia, in my opinion, require a minimal rejection of the Minsk agreements, of the idea of the impossibility of changing the regime in other countries, by military or paramilitary methods, of the policy of supporting the region in the struggle against the power of the regions,” Zlobin said.
The political scientist also drew attention to the fact that fundamental changes in foreign policy have taken place in Russia, for which the country is not yet ready. Probably, because of this, suspicions may arise.
