AS Monaco – Mercato: €10m, what a pity for ASM!
AS Monaco, led by the excellent Aurélien Tchouaméni and Wissam Ben Yedder, currently occupies sixth place in the Ligue 1 standings.
Usually very active during the Mercato, the leaders of the ASM will have been rather calm this time this winter with only one major recruit: Vanderson.
But after finding a way out for Pietro Pellegri, who left for Torino FC, AS Monaco also parted ways with Strahinja Pavlovic (20), who clearly did not fit into Philippe Clément’s plans and who excluded was loaned to FC Basel until the end of the season with an option to buy.
Appeared seven times in Ligue 1 and three times in the Europa League with ASM this season, the young central defender, who is a regular in the Serbian national team, had to find playing time elsewhere in order to maximize his chances of competing in the next World Cup which will take place in Qatar.
Recruited for 10M€ from Partizan Belgrade during the Mercato in January 2020, Strahinja Pavlovic will unfortunately not have been able to seize his chance on the Rock and had already been loaned last season in Belgium to Cercle Bruges, the satellite club of the formation. Monegasque.
Long considered a great hope of world football in his position when he was still playing for Partizan Belgrade, the Serbian international central defender will therefore have the opportunity to relaunch his young and promising career on the Swiss side at FC Basel. What a pity for AS Monaco…
