Maersk gets a long rig contract in Denmark
Maersk Drilling has been awarded a contract by TotalEnergies in Denmark for the jack-up drilling rig Maersk Reacher (2009).
The rig will perform well intervention services on the Danish shelf in the North Sea, in a contract that starts in July this year and lasts for 21 months. I get additional options which can extend the contract by another 27 months.
Thus, Maersk Drilling will have two rigs working for TotalEnergies on the Danish shelf this year.
Maersk Reacher currently operates for Aker BP in Norway, but will be replaced by the follow-up rig Maersk Integrator in February / March this year, as Finansiavisen wrote on Monday. It will then go into periodic maintenance before starting up for TotalEnergies.
The rate in the new contract is not stated, but in the contract with Aker BP the rate is 123,500 dollars per. today, according to Clarkson’s Platou.
Contract to Valaris
It has also dripped contracts on Valaris.
The rig giant has one-well contracts with Murphy Oil, and these will be drilled with the floating drilling rig Valaris DPS-5.
The first contracts are in the Gulf of Mexico and start in the third quarter, with a minimum duration of 30 days. I am adding an option for one more well, with a duration of 90 days.
The other contracts are outside Mexico, and will start in direct extension of the first. This contract has an estimated duration of 60 days.
