The people of Hajdú-Biharia managed to collect a record amount of food

Ebes – Kerekes Kft. Supported the Santa Claus Factory with 16,000 kilograms of food.

In the last 17 years, such a large donation has never been made to the Santa Claus Factory in the capital. One of the companies in Eastern Hungary, Kerekes Kft.

“The truckload of gifts weighs well over 100,000 kilograms, which is why in 2021 companies and individuals brought it to the site of one of the largest fundraising campaigns in the country, which was open for 21 days,” said Endre Zsolnai, chief organizer of the Santa Claus Factory.

The exact amount of donations is 107,000 kilograms, more than 75 percent of which is durable food, detergents, and many toys and warmer clothes have been created by donors at the site of the charity.

– This year, Santa also operated two factories, one on Dózsa György út, near 56 Square, and the other at the Pólus Center, where donors could park more easily with larger gifts. In addition to the two locations, donations could also be delivered at major post offices in the country, so four thousand kilograms of gifts arrived in Budapest with the help of Magyar Posta. The figures may still change, as this is the second time this year that the Santa Claus Factory has been a collection point in Germany, not all donations have been received since then, the organizers said.
