A bill was introduced to the State Duma, within the framework of which it was proposed to make December 26 a day of remembrance of the existence of the USSR. Such an initiative was initiated by the Liberal Democratic Party, informs RBC.
Amendments to the law on days of military glory and memorable dates are introduced by the Deputy Speaker of the State Duma Boris Chernyshov, who was born in the year of the collapse of the USSR – 1991. In an explanatory note to the bill, he called the incident the main geopolitical catastrophe of the 20th century, “which led to disintegration in various spheres of life.” society, exacerbation of the economic and economic crisis, the emergence of conflicts on national grounds. “
Chernyshov says that it is necessary to set December 26 as a special date in order to perpetuate the memory of “a significant event in the history of the Russian state, a special milestone that must be forgotten by all generations of Russian citizens.”
