OMV Petrom expands the network for recharging electric cars in the Republic of Moldova and Serbia, which will be connected to Bulgaria and Romania through 100 stations by the end of 2022
OMV Petrom (SNP stock symbol) extends the charging network for electric cars in the Republic of Moldova and Serbia to Petrom and OMV fuel distribution stations. Thus, OMV Petrom becomes the first energy company in the region with a network of power stations in four countries in Southeast Europe.
The infrastructure for powering electric cars is being developed together with partners in the electric mobility sector.
Romania, Bulgaria, Moldova and Serbia will be connected by the end of 2022 through a network of about 100 fast and ultra-fast charging stations. The fast charging stations recharge 80% of the battery in about 40 minutes, and for the ultra-fast ones, the estimated recharging time is less than 20 minutes.
“We are expanding our range of electromobility in all countries in the region where we have gas stations. Practically, by the end of 2022, about 15% of the OMV and Petrom network in the region will have recharging stations. By 2030, we will provide solutions that require more than 500 points with alternatives for mobility, respectively recharging services for electric cars, natural gas solutions such as LNG and CNG, as well as hydrogen “, says Radu Căprău, member of the board of OMV Petrom responsible for Downstream Oil.
