The last beer before nightclubs closes – NRK Norway – Overview of news from different parts of the country
People all over the country are preparing for new measures. When the clock strikes 00.00 on Wednesday night, it is no longer allowed to serve alcohol. Several nightclubs have announced that they are closing their doors.
In the well-known Fargegata in Stavanger, it was raining outside, but inside there were some who had taken the trip out to take the last pilsner in 2021.
– This is bullshit, simply. I feel sorry for everyone who runs nightclubs right now, says Arne Kolstad.
He takes last pilsen out in 2021 with his wife Siv Antonsen. He himself has worked at a nightclub before. The news about the bar stop was of the sad kind.
– They have been fantastic at following the rules. It’s really bad. But we managed last time, so it should go well. But it’s a bit silly, I myself lost six gigs before January, he says.
– Gravøl
At Scotsman in Oslo, several had chosen to take the trip to get one last beer.
Lasse Nilsen and Ronny Pettersen were already in place on Tuesday morning to show their support.
– It’s grave beer this time too. We doubt that we are until it closes since we have been here so long. But we will continue to enjoy ourselves, the two say.
The two do not agree with the government on the measures. They believe the restaurant has done everything according to the book, and therefore should be allowed to stay open.
– It is final, the measures should have been treated in a different way. Here are separate guards who make sure that the infection control is taken care of with a bandage and distance.
At Blå in Oslo, Tomas Coucheron, Emilie dommersnes, Nicoline Fougner had gathered.
– It is nice to have a beer, it also seems very safe, says Coucheron.
– I think it is a bit unnecessary, mostly because it goes beyond much more. Now they have found out that Omikron is not as dangerous as first thought, says Dommersnes on Blå.
Bareier Sandberg on «gravøl»
Several nightclubs have already announced that they will close their doors. So does bare owner and former parliamentary representative Per Sandberg together with his girlfriend Bahareh Letnes.
– We are here to have the last beer before four weeks of shutdown. Which I fear may be even longer, says Letnes.
Sandberg and Letnes own a bar in Halden. The door will also be locked for the next four weeks.
– We feel the measures that came. It is sad that safe and clean surroundings such as outdoor cafes close down. Here, the places that are safest in terms of infection are closed down. But we must follow up on what the authorities require of us, Sandberg says.
Half time to drink up
It is the assistant general manager at Scotsman in Oslo, Sigurd Fugelseth, who has been working on the last day.
He expects a little more going on tonight, but no party atmosphere.
– We expect the same wave as last time. It’s a little extra. We close after midnight, so there will be a few days of washing so that we are ready to open again, Fugelseth says.
After the last beer leaves the tap 00.00 has confirmed half an hour of getting out.
– According to Norwegian law, you have half an hour to drink up. Men’s last serving will be midnight, he says.
Last performance
Night to Wednesday will be the last chance for more things.
The ballet performance The Nutcracker is the last to be held in Arendal culture house before Christmas. And most of the performances and concerts that were planned for the next four weeks have been postponed.
Fortunately, Freja Maria Stifoss-Lindvåg (10) managed to see the performance on Tuesday.
– Dit’s a very nice ballet that dances, so maybe I can get some inspiration. We were supposed to have a show this weekend, and it was canceled, says Freja.
