Former President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev, who was also the last leader of the Kazakh SSR in the history of the Soviet Union, named the reasons for the collapse of the unified state. He told about this on the air of the TV channel. “Russia 24”, reports on Saturday, December 11, RIA News…
According to him, the elites of that time lacked political will. Added to this is the fact that the socialist economy has outlived its resource.
“The economic bloc must be on time,” Nazarbayev said, noting that “changes must be carried out in conditions of discipline, order, and strong leadership.”
The ex-leader of the former Soviet republic cited China as an example, where it turned out to rebuild the economy in a capitalist manner.
Nazarbayev also caused unrest in the Baltic republics of the USSR, which, in his opinion, were an artificial addition to the state with a standard of living higher than in other parts of the country.
Finally, he pointed out that the signal for the rest of the republics was the declaration of independence by the authorities of the RSFSR on June 12, 1990.
The Soviet Union collapsed after December 1991, the Belovezhsky agreements by the leaders of the RSFSR, the Ukrainian and Byelorussian SSR, divided a single state. During these events, Soviet President Mikhail Gorbachev gave up the fight and was removed from power.
