Russia, India and China Call for Complete Cessation of Hostilities in Yemen – International Panorama
November 26. / TASS /. The foreign ministers of Russia, India and China called for a complete cessation of hostilities in Yemen and for the establishment of a negotiation process mediated by the UN. This is stated in the text of the communique drawn up on Friday following the results of the RIC online summit (“Russia-India-China”).
The heads of the three countries stressed that the ongoing conflict in Yemen seriously undermines security and stability not only on the territory of the country itself, but throughout the region. Russia, India and China have also declared the need for urgent humanitarian access to help the local population.
The heads of the foreign affairs agencies of the RIC countries also highly appreciated the cooperation within the BRICS and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO). “Emphasizing the importance they attach to cooperation within the BRICS, the ministers welcomed the outcome of the 13th BRICS Summit, chaired by India on September 9, 2021,” the document says.
The ministers agreed to actively work on the implementation of the decisions of the BRICS summits, an in-depth strategic partnership in the “five”. Russia and India are entirely China in its chairmanship of the BRICS in 2022 and the holding of the XIV BRICS Summit, the communique says.
“In the year of the 20th anniversary of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, the ministers emphasized what was strengthened in the communique,” the communiqué says.
“The ministers intend to pay special attention to the security environment of the SCO, including to intensify efforts to jointly counter terrorism, drug trafficking and cross-border organized crime in the regional anti-terrorist structure of the SCO. July 2021 in Dushanbe,” the document says.
