Trojmezí: Prague will have a study prepared, it will deal with nature protection
Trojmezí is a large undeveloped area on the border of Prague 10, 11 and 15. It includes the nature park Hostivař – Záběhlice and the protected Meander Botič.
Unsuccessful studies
In the past, several studies have been set up by either civic associations, landowners or development companies. “However, none of these studies have found the necessary social consensus,” the document said.
The new study is to be divided into two parts, analytical and design. The first will describe and define the potential, value and problems of the area at present. The second part will contain a proposal for what to do with the territory. It will state how to preserve the recreational potential, nature protection and the proposal of possible construction in some peripheral parts.
Trojmezí is mostly included in the Hostivař – Záběhlice nature park and it already passes through several streams. The most important is the Botič stream, whose meanders are a natural monument and a local bio-corridor. The Chodovecký and Košíkovský streams also flow here, on which the so-called retention tanks for water retention are built. In the middle part, orchards are a characteristic element of the territory.
The development companies that own land there tried to build the area between 2006 and 2010. At that time, the local and later the town hall and the municipality opposed it. The councilors also discussed the intended construction in October 2015, when they rejected a proposal to change the use of several plots of land on which the developer wanted to build houses, shops, schools and cultural and recreational facilities. According to earlier statements, the municipality did not rule out that it could use part of the land for the construction of city apartments.
