Dmitry Rogozin, general director of Roscosmos, said that Russia had transferred part of the federal launches to the Kourou cosmodrome in French Guiana. He announced this at a briefing, reports RIA News”…
According to him, Roscosmos is interested in the cosmodrome, as it is a unique and convenient point for launching on the equator.
Earlier Rogozin declaredthat the Russian orbital service station could become the new ISS with even more participants.
According to him, the world is interested in the Russian station, so Roscosmos is thinking about creating an international project on its basis.
Earlier, the Scientific and Technical Council of Roscosmos and the Bureau of the Council of the Russian Academy of Sciences, following the results of the joint meeting, recommended that proposals be submitted to the Russian Federation on the creation of a new Russian orbital service station.
Prior to that, Rogozin announced that the state corporation would build a Russian orbital service station with an efficiency higher than that of the ISS. He assumes that ROSS plans to start deploying “somewhere in five to six years.”
