The closing ceremony of the 32nd Open Festival of Documentary Films “Russia” was held in Yekaterinburg. This year’s laureates included two films that premiered on the platform “Watching”…
The first special jury prize “For honest and versatile coverage of a hot topic” was awarded to the picture “Walking Into the Fire” directed by Alena Smirnova. The project also received a special prize from the Rossiyskaya Gazeta “For Positive Philosophy and Social Optimism.” The creators of the tape talked about the problem of forest fires and those who help to fight them. The filming was attended by volunteers from the 15.08 detachment, employees of the Federal and Regional Aviation Protection, Forestry and Scientific, as well as young IT specialists in the field of forestry in Russia.
Audience Award was given to the documentary movie “Cheerful Man” director Andrey Konchalovsky… This picture is an attempt to answer the question of who we are. The heroes of the film add up to each other, because they conduct a dialogue with other issues that are discussed and discussed in the author’s questions, common for everyone: the meaning of being, a person’s place in the world, faith, sin, happiness, love for the motherland. Seven short stories, seven fragments snatched from images of a single portrait of an ordinary person who goes about his business day after day and imperceptibly makes life better.
