“United Russia got 96%.” Kadyrov laughingly reported to Putin on the election results in Chechnya
The head of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov, told President Vladimir Putin about the results of the elections to the State Duma in the republic, where United Russia received 96% of the vote. Kadyrov said this at a meeting between the president and the leaders of the parties that entered the State Duma, broadcast led TV channel “Russia 24”.
“In our republic, United Russia received 96%, the Communist Party – 0.75%, and the Liberal Democratic Party – generally minuscule. Therefore, this is a great result, – which Kadyrov said.
In response, Putin said that the results of the elections in Chechnya “may seem unrealistic.” the president added.
He noted that “a lot” in Chechnya has been “done under the leadership” of Kadyrov.
The elections of the State Duma deputies of the eighth convocation were held from 17 to 19 September. According to the CEC, in the federal district, United Russia gained 49.82%, the Communist Party of the Russian Federation – 18.93%, the Liberal Democratic Party – 7.55%, A Just Russia – For the Truth – 7.46%, the New People party – 5.32%. As a result, United Russia retained its constitutional majority in the State Duma.
In the elections for the heads of Chechnya, Kadyrov received a record 99.7% of the vote.
Commenting on the results of the elections to the State Duma, Putin said that they were held “openly, in strict accordance with the law,” United Russia proved its leadership.
