The winery from Brno architects is one of the ten most beautiful buildings in the world
It reached the finals of the prestigious MIPIM Awards competition held in Cannes, France. The project from the Brno offices of Chybik + Kristof did not win the competition, but for the unique building with a typical wave in the vineyards in the Znojmo region, the eyes are fixed from all over the world.
The modern building in concrete and glass follows the vineyard rows, the interior consists of arches reminiscent of the vault of the wine cellar. “When we announced our intention to build a winery on the U Hájku line, architects Chybík and Krištof asked us if they could make a design. The wave was there from the first moment, it appealed to us, “said the owner of the winery Petr Chaloupecký.
Subsequently, according to him, consultations on the interconnection of the production area, the administrative part and the visitor center. This is exactly what the visitors of the wine tasting admired yesterday. “Wonderful environment, full of light everywhere. A building that fits into the surrounding vineyards. There is a beautiful view from the terrace, “the visitors raced in their impressions.
Amphitheater and Lahoteka
After an outdoor staircase, they can comfortably reach the roof of the house, sometimes it serves as a podium for social events. “We call it the amphitheater, I know the Lahotéka space for tasting again,” said Chaloupecký.
According to him, the unique construction was demanding. “New technologies and generous solutions have been used. It was a technologically demanding construction, we watched its development with interest, “said Chaloupecký, who yesterday worked in the new winery processing grapes.
The MIPIM Awards is the pinnacle of the world’s largest real estate fair. In the competition, the jury awards the best development projects of the year. Architecture plays a big role in it. Czech projects rarely succeed in it, which is why the Czech participation in the finals is really a success. Architects Ondřej Chybík and Michal Krištof stood by the famous names. The rivals were projects such as the Svart Hotel in Norway, the BaseCamp Lyngby Student Housing in Denmark, the Royal Mint in the Netherlands and the Olympic and Paralympic Museum in the USA.
