More than 200 schoolchildren from Belarus and Russia compete at the sports day of the SG in Orsha
September 21, Minsk / BelTA /. More than 200 schoolchildren from Belarus and Russia compete at the Olympic Hopes sports day of the Union State, which takes place on September 18-23 in Orsha. A BelTA correspondent was told about this at the representative office of the Standing Committee of the Union State in Minsk.
This year, within the framework of the Olympics, the organization of four complex sports (stages) – in the cities of Orsha, Volzhsky, Gomel and Smolensk. In total, 928 people are planned to participate in four events of the 2021 Olympics, including 792 people – young athletes participating in the competition (schoolchildren, students of vocational and secondary specialized education institutions, student youth).
In Orsha, the first stage of the Union Olympics is now being held. The program includes competitions in ice hockey (boys – 8 teams) and volleyball (girls – 8 teams). In total, 228 people take part in the events of the Olympics, including 198 young athletes from Russia and Belarus at the age of 12-14 years.
The delegation of the Republic of Belarus is attended by young athletes from Brest, Gomel, Grodno, Minsk, Mogilev regions and the city of Minsk.
Teams from the Penza, Chelyabinsk, Smolensk regions, Krasnodar Territory, Sakhalin Region, the Republic of Tatarstan, the Republic of North Ossetia – Alania, and the Komi Republic are taking part from the Russian Federation.
Ice hockey competitions are held at the sports base of the Lokomotiv-Orsha hockey club, volleyball competitions are held at the Olimpiets sports complex.
The ceremonial opening of the Olympics took place on September 18 in the Orsha Palace of Culture. The ceremony was attended by the head of the representative office of the Standing Committee of the Union State in Minsk Marianna Shchetkina, First Deputy Minister of Sports and Tourism of the Republic of Belarus Vyacheslav Durnov, Deputy Chairman of the Orsha District Executive Committee Viktor Kolochev, head of the Russian sports delegation – representative of the Ministry of Sports of the Russian Federation Olga Knysh.
In addition to the competitive part, an extensive cultural and entertainment program is planned for the participants of the Olympics (walking tour of Orsha, bus excursion “Orsha-Kopys-Levki”, bowling, mass skating, “Friendship Evening”, disco).
The ceremonial closing of the Olympics will take place on 23 September.
The representative office of the Standing Committee of the Union State in Minsk also noted that three more stages of the Olympics are planned from October to November 2021. In particular, this is the Union State Spartakiad among training professional educational organizations and institutions of vocational and secondary special “We choose sport!” (October 4-9, Volzhsky, Volgograd region; athletics, swimming, football). It is also the Union State Olympics among student youth (November 1-6, Gomel; table tennis, badminton, athletics). And also the Olympics for schoolchildren of Russia and Belarus living in rural areas (November 15-20, Smolensk; cross-country skiing, basketball, volleyball).
The Union State Spartakiad for children and youth is an annual complex event in the field of physical culture and sports and has been annually since 2003 in accordance with the decision of the Council of Ministers of the Union State.
Funding is carried out from the budget of the Union State. The state customers of the Olympics are the Ministry of Sports and Tourism of the Republic of Belarus and the Ministry of Sports of the Russian Federation. The state customer-coordinator is the Ministry of Sports of the Russian Federation.
The main tasks of the Olympics: development of the youth physical culture and sports movement within the framework of the Union State; physical, moral, patriotic and spiritual education of the younger generation; strengthening friendly ties and youth of the Republic of Belarus and the Russian Federation; strengthening ties between departments and institutions of the Union State, developing interregional integration in the field of physical culture and sports; promotion of healthy lifestyles.
Until 2012, within the framework of the Olympics, two events were held annually (one in Russia, the second in Belarus). Beginning in 2012, there will be a Spartakiad of up to four events (two for children, two for youth, in summer and winter sports).
Teenagers and student youth aged from 8 to 21 years old take part in the Spartakiad competitions. Olympic and non-Olympic sports, as well as outdoor games and special events on the theme of the Union State, the history of Belarusian and Russian sports, and organized leisure for the participants can be included in the program of the Olympics.
About 13 thousand students and schoolchildren from Belarus and Russia took part in 50 complex events of the Olympics (competitions in more than 30 sports were held).
The events of the Spartakiad in 2019-2020 were included in the plan of the Union State dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the liberation of Belarus from the Nazi invaders and the 75th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War. In 2019, the stages of the Olympics were held in Dmitrov, Brest, Molodechno, Sochi (912 people took part in them).
