Children learn from home again. Hygienists ordered the complete closure of the school in Prague
It took less than 14 days and the hygienists completely closed the whole school. The entire Chmelnice primary school in Prague is moving to distance learning. The number of patients with covid-19 increased rapidly at school. Other schools in the country also solve problems.
The covidu-19 pandemic in the Czech Republic is gaining momentum again after the summer, and experts warn that we are at the beginning of the fourth wave. The disease does not escape children either, so it was probably only a matter of time before the first complete school closures took place.
Less than 14 days after the start of the school year, the Chmelnice Primary School in Prague 3 closed its gate again. The hygienic station of the capital decided to close it. According to the school principal Václav Havelka, it was more than a third of the students in quarantine, 44 students are ill 13 teachers were also taken out of operation.
“The closure begins on Wednesday 15 September and ends on 24 September inclusive. There may be a shift of several days if the PCR test still shows the presence of a positive pupil on 13 or 14 September in the school staff. However, these shifts by days would affect weekend and the following director’s leave on September 27 and the national holiday on September 28, “said director Havelka.
He agrees with the decision of the hygiene station. “No matter how hard we tried to keep the school going, the spread of the virus was stronger. Additional classes were quarantined on Tuesday morning, with PCR-positive pupils increasing every hour, and more educators dropping out. At the moment, the local class quarantines are no longer able to spread, there are about 10 siblings in each class, and before the obvious symptoms appear, the disease spreads, “Havelka described.
Interestingly, the school had a total of seven cases under the same measures over the past year and a half. “Unfortunately, we have now been hit by a more aggressive option, difficult to find a winemaker,” the director added.
Other schools also deal with the spread of the disease. For now, however, it is enough to quarantine only some classes, not the whole school. For example, he switched to distance learning six classes at the U Nových lázní primary school in Teplice. He is also in quarantine five classes in the 15th primary school in Pilsen. “A positive PCR test was proved by one pedagogical worker,” said Adriana Jarošová from the press department of the city of Pilsen.
