Prague and the Central Bohemian Region will accelerate the completion of the Prague Ring Road. It costs eleven years of work – ČT24 – Czech Television
The last work on the Prague Ring Road was completed eleven years ago, and since then, according to the mayor’s deputy Adam Scheinherr (Prague Sobě), the building has not moved on. “It is a joint declaration and an appeal towards the government and the Ministry of Transport, and therefore the ŘSD, for the accelerated completion of the circuit. It is a necessary declaration and statement that we are not satisfied with the current preparation, yet the state has all the support from us, “said Scheinherr.
According to him, Prague and Central Bohemia did everything they could and cooperate with the ministry. Among other things, the city allegedly refuted the possibilities of other variants of the circuit management and included them in all the necessary documents.
The currently approved declarations of the region appeal primarily to the completion of the section designated 511 as the D1 and the Hradec Králové motorway. Other are the sections in the north of the city, where most of the circuit is missing.
The second declaration concerns the agglomeration circuit. It forms a network of second class roads. The construction will relieve the city districts and some Central Bohemian municipalities and take traffic from them to the Prague ring road between the D1 and the Hradec Králové motorway.
After completion, the outer Prague ring road should measure about 83 kilometers according to current plans, with a longer half now in operation. The section from the Brno D1 motorway to Běchovice is missing, as is the entire northern part from Ruzyně via Suchdol, Březiněves to Černý Most. Radials, which are roads that are to connect with the inner city ring road that Prague is building, are not even completed. The town halls north of the capital have long been fighting against the construction of the Prague Ring Road.
