Expansion of the Czech colony. Spartan Sáček takes off his red jersey, signed in Poland
“Jagiellonia Bialystok has a new player. Czech central midfielder Michal Sáček has signed with the club, the contract is valid until June 2025. He will wear number 16,” the Polish team boasts on its website.
Sáček’s departure from Letná was already clear during the winter training, when he did not travel with the club to a training camp in Spain. For example, Pavel Vrba, who is newly coaching Zlín, showed interest, but from the beginning, going abroad seemed the most likely.

In the end, it is not about Italy, but about the current fifteenth team of the Polish top league, which will primarily play for survival in the spring. “Sak, we thank you for everything you have done for Sparta and we wish you the best of luck in your future career and personal life,” writes Sparta in the official announcement.
Sáček made his debut in the Czech top flight in 2015/16. “He recorded his first competitive match on March 30, 2016, when he intervened in the final nine minutes of the cup match against Liberec, and it was not only a winning debut, but thanks to the better score from the double match, he also advanced,” Sparta reminds.
The player, who also played for the under-21 national team and has appeared in the senior selection once, has, for example, matches in European cups against Inter Milan. She scored her first league goal in the spring of 2019, when she made it 3-0 in a home game against Pilsen. “But he wasn’t the only goal-scoring debutant that evening. He will forever share this contribution with Adam Hložek, who plays and opens the match,” recalls the former employer.
In the years Sáček became a stable member of the first team, he was regularly among the next most exploited players. He most often starts on the left side of the defense or in the center of the midfield.
“We have been discussing the acquisition of Michal for a long time. The first idea was to sign him on July 1 after his current contract expired. However, an agreement was reached with Sparta regarding an early offense. I am very glad that we finally brought Michal in January, not in the summer. We took advantage of his problems with game load when the coach changed in Sparta. I hope that Michal will quickly get used to the team and help us in the fight to stay in the Ekstraklasa,” Jagiellonia quotes the club’s sports director Łukasz Masłowski.
