Prague has a new chamber for the Na Mazance reservoir
After more than thirty years, the capital received a new reservoir chamber. In Mazanc, the chamber was put into sharp operation these days, ten trials lasted twelve months. The investor of the event was the Prague Waterworks Company.
The new valve chamber, the construction of which began at the beginning of 2020, is connected to the existing DN 800 and DN 1000 area distributions. The volume of the new chamber is 5,250 m3 and increases the total capacity of the Mazanka reservoir to 17,250 m3. “The new chamber was created because of the expected construction development in the Bubna – Zátory area,” explained Tomáš Mrázek, a press spokesman for Prague Waterworks and Sewerage.
The Jesenice II reservoir was last built in Prague in 1991. There are now 69 reservoirs in the territory of the metropolis with a total capacity of 758,7444 m3. In 2018, the large-scale reconstruction of the reservoirs in Flora was completed. Also worth mentioning is the increase in the capacity of the Uhříněves reservoir, which was reconstructed in 2015 and the capacity was increased from the original 500 m3 to 9,000 m3.
The total length of the water supply network at the end of 2022 reached 3,606 kilometers, the length of the water supply connection reached 891 kilometers.
