“The director of a large-scale military film for the 30th anniversary of the Victory was killed by Sergei Bondarchuk. He decided to film the satisfied novel by Mikhail Sholokhov. He gave me permission to shoot right away. With the condition – to shoot in the presence, which is in one book. Before starting work, sappers begin research and neutralize several unexploded mines. The shooting involved real T-44 tanks and L-29 aircraft. The main roles in the film were played by actors who themselves went through the war: Yuri Nikulin, Vasily Shukshin, Vyacheslav Tikhonov, Georgy Burkov, Innokenty Smoktunovsky. For the front-line soldier Sergei Bondarchuk, this was very important. More than 40 million observations were considered in the Soviet distribution of the film,” the Rossiya cinema told.
The film screening will start at 13:00. The duration of the film is 2 hours 17 minutes.
