Pardubice were waiting. Already on Saturday, February 4, from 6:00 p.m., they will welcome Slavia Prague to their real home stadium. While for the Trpišovský team, Saturday’s match will be an opportunity to stay at the top of the league table, the Pardubice players will want to open the newly renovated stadium with a good result. Will the team of coach Kováč manage to score points with the Prague team?
FK Pardubice:
Coach Kováč’s men entered the spring season with a valuable draw in Liberec. But now they are playing against Slavia, which they don’t have good memories of. The only point they won against the Prague team is in the deep past. In the last four matches, Pardubice failed to score a single goal, on the contrary, they conceded 19. The last match between them, which was played in the autumn of last year, was lost by Východočesi 0:7. On Saturday, two opposite poles will face each other. While Kováč’s team is fighting for survival, Slávisté rose to first place after the first match of the spring. Will they open their newly renovated stadium with a good result against Slavia Prague and improve the unflattering difference in -26?
Who to watch out for?
Pavel Černý played in all 17 FORTUNA:LIGA matches this season. Although this seasoned forward has only two goals at his end so far this season, there is no need to doubt his qualities going forward. He excels in his work with the ball and he will be one of the players that coach Kováč can rely on. Will this 38-year-old Pardubice forward make his mark, and become only the second Pardubice player to score a goal against Slavia? So far, only Emil Tischler managed to score against him.
SK Slavia Prague:
Coach Trpišovský’s wards have the highest ambitions for a long time. This is not the case in the current season either. Although they overwintered in second place, the team jumped to first place after the first spring round. In Pardubice, it will most likely be the stitchers who will push the saw. Let’s consider that the Slavists have already scored 56 goals this league season and their score difference is a great +41! Slavia’s offense is working and this season the Prague team managed to score at least 4 goals in one game nine times.
Who to watch out for?
We will stay with the Slavist offensive. Tandem Tecl – Lingr scored 17 goals together. The first mentioned also added 3 goal assists to the nine goals and reigns in the statistics of passes to chances, having scored 23 of them in 16 played duels. The second mentioned collected 8 goals and 4 goal assists. I’m not even allowed to forget the goalkeeper. Of the 6 duels in which Slavia did not collect, Kolář and Mandous shared the clean sheets equally. It is worth mentioning that Jan Stejskal, a student from Pardubice, is the top three in the Slavist goal.
A word from Pardubice assistant coach David Mikula:
“The whole Slavia team has great quality. They have been confirming this for several years. They do well both in the cups and in the domestic league. We must not succumb to the pressure from the first home game. We have to go our separate ways. If the boys do what we want them to do, I believe we can resist Slavia and even surprise them. We will go into the match determined to win. We need to score points in every game. We must not look back at the opponent. We want to show a work performance from the start of the match.”
