The state is preparing to electrify the line from Prague to Všetat
The region asked the state for clear dates for the modernization of the tracks due to competitions.
The Railway Administration (SŽ) is preparing to electrify the line from Prague to Neratovice and Všetat. Electric train passengers on this route probably only in the next decade. The investment plan is not yet even in the Railway Administration’s project overview. The plans for the electrification and double-tracking of the line result from the answers of the Ministry of Transport of the Central Bohemian Region.
It has already emerged from them that the Railway Administration will not have time to modernize the line from Prague to Kladno. The region needs to know the electrification dates because of the upcoming tenders for carriers.
“By December 2029, the entire length of the line will not be electrified and double-tracked, the Prague-odb electrification can be expected to be completed. Skály – Praha-Čakovice, the next section is affected by several aspects (checking the capacity in the section Neratovice – Všetaty in connection with the Tišice department and the collision with the Písčina u Tišice natural monument and then the Všetatská černava nature reserve). Double-tracking or electrification of the section Všetaty – Mladá Boleslav is currently not considered. Service to Mladá Boleslav is prospectively planned in the southern direction via Lysá nad Labem and Milovice. Project work on the section Prague-Čakovice (outside) – Neratovice is yet to start, the date of commissioning can be assumed after 2030,” said the Ministry of Transport in response.
To Mladá Boleslav until 2033
At the same time, the Ministry confirmed that it does not accept the modernization of the Prague-Smíchov – Hostivice line. It is not even able to guarantee a date until the end of the decade for the line Prague – Rudná u Prahy – Beroun. “It is not possible to guarantee the completion of this section in its entire length due to the possible capacity utilization as a diversion route due to the concurrence of shutdowns during the optimization of line III. TŽK between Prague and Beroun. The mentioned line is part of the Feasibility Study of the Prague-Smíchov – Rudná – Beroun line,” added the ministry.
The region was also interested in whether the line from Prague to Vrané nad Vltavou would simply be modified in the electrification project. Nothing like that is coming. The Ministry of Transport, on the other hand, hopes that the high-speed line from Běchovice to Poříčany will be ready by December 2030. “This is a priority section from the point of view of preparation and implementation, where the effort is to complete the construction according to the schedule so that it will definitely be in operation by 12/2030,” the ministry wrote. The electric line from Prague to Mladá Boleslav via Lysa nad Labem should be ready by December 2033.
