A thief (33) robbed four establishments: He stole goods and money worth a quarter of a million
At the beginning of December, a thirty-three-year-old man broke into an establishment in Národní street in Prague 1, from where he took goods and cash worth almost one hundred and ninety thousand crowns. “He used a wooden stake to pry open a section of Plexiglas at the sales counter and crawled inside through a small opening. Criminal officers from the second department of Prague I they secured camera footage on which the as-yet-unknown man was captured very well and got to work,” said police spokesman Richard Hrdina.
Over the course of the next three weeks, the man broke into three more establishments and the total damage gradually climbed to almost a quarter of a million crowns.
“Thanks to the excellent personal and local knowledge of a female police officer, detectives obtained a lead that led them to the suspect. In cooperation with other patrols, they arrested a thirty-three-year-old man in mid-January, who they accused of committing the crime of theft. A man who is being prosecuted can, in the event of a conviction, with regard to the amount of damage caused, end up behind bars for up to five years,” Hrdina added.
