ACADEMY OF DIJON: In September 2023, the means will be down but the supervision rates will increase
There will be around 3,100 fewer schoolchildren at the start of the next school year and 171 positions will be eliminated.
National education remains a major priority for government action, with a budget of more than 60 billion euros, up 6.5% (excluding state pension contributions).
With sustained attention to the values of the Republic and the well-being of all students, the start of the 2023 school year in the academy will also make it possible to initiate substantive work to develop social diversity, while continuing to deploy the school. Understood.
The budget requested from the Dijon Academy consists of implementing national priorities, according to its demographic, territorial and social context.
Within the Academy, we observe a decrease of 2,095 schoolchildren (i.e. -1.7%) and a decrease of 1,021 secondary school pupils (i.e. -1%). Faced with this drop in the number of students, the Dijon academy will lose 72 positions in the first degree and 99 in the second degree next school year.
While a sharp demographic decline is expected in the academy, the budget only decreases by 0.9% with supervision rates which will continue to increase in the four departments. The Côte-d’Or will have at the start of the next school year 6.22 P/E (+0.03). Nièvre will have 6.88 P/E (+ 0.06). Saône-et-Loire will have 6.23 P / E (+0.06). Finally, Yonne will have 6.59 P / E (+0.07).
(P/E is the average number of teaching positions per 100 students)
The budget authorized for the academy will allow:
– to finalize the capping of classes at 24 pupils in the large nursery section, in CP and in CE1;
– to continue the duplication of 100% of classes in the large nursery section in REP+;
– to support inclusive schools by creating 2 additional ULIS (local school inclusion units) and continuing the autism plan;
– to support the diversity of territories, with particular attention to rurality (no school closures without the consent of the mayor).
The three priorities for the start of the 2023 academic year will be:
– Excellence (including personalized support on key skills in French and mathematics instead of technology hours)
– Equal opportunities (with, for example, the continuation of efforts in terms of social funds for the benefit of disadvantaged students)
– Well-being (including the development of the PHARE program to combat harassment)
