The Fidesz mayor of Debrecen guesses the envy of the left and the city behind the voices against the battery factory
László Papp, the Fidesz mayor of Debrecen, defended the Chinese battery factory, which was probably rejected by the majority of the locals, with renewed vigor.

The city manager met Andrea Földi-Kovács and László Földi in a Fidesz club, reports a Debrecen Dayand then it became clear:
There is huge competition with neighboring countries for every single investment, which is why the economic strengthening that is happening here in Debrecen can sting the eyes of many. Many people, both at home and abroad, may think that this process should be stopped, saying that it is not good if Debrecen is economically too strong and has such an influence on the region.
It must be seen that Debrecen has become the collision point of a major international economic struggle. The events of the past few weeks have proven that the left-wing parties do not have Debrecen’s interests in mind when they attack the city’s largest job-creating investment, the construction of the battery factory.
The investment means a huge economic income for the city, which forms the basis for the developments of the following years. We have to keep this in mind!
– writes on his Facebook page Papp, in keeping with good Fidesz custom, “left-wing” (is that a curse word anyway?) everyone who disagrees with him.
