In the Nuselsky Valley, v near the railway, is located 850 households. Today, 300 train sets pass through here a day, after the reconstruction it should be 479 trains per day. According to the residents, the noise level of one passing train is as high as 103 decibels, with the first trains passing through the valley at 4 o’clock in the morning. Local residents are most worried about the elimination of noise pollution.
“I think that the noise burden will increase every year, due to the fact that the track will be used more and more, more trains, longer trains will pass here. They were happy if, with this modernization, the noise was reduced as much as possible with available technologies and means,” explained Jana Bašusová, vice president of the Nuselské údolí association, zs
“It is certainly an important aspect for us. we communicate with some of the surrounding properties and people who have been exchanging for modern systems for a long time, for example the rubber, anti-vibration mats, which reduces the noise, which most often originates from the chassis of these rail vehicles, by a factor of ten,” added Karel Ptáček, project manager of the company, which will participate in the reconstruction of the railway.
The reconstruction and modernization of the railways will concern the section from the southern portal of the Vinohrad tunnels to the Vítoňské bridge. Currently, the Railway Administration is waiting for permission for a zoning decision. The work itself should start in 2026.
