The man who sent was arrested this morning threatening emails for placing explosive devices at Athens International Airports and hospitals yesterday.
According to the police, the man was arrested in the morning hours today in Thessaloniki, by police officers of the Sub-Directorate for Combating Special Violent Crimes of Northern Greece.
This is another 42-year-old man, against whom a case file was filed for terrorist acts, spreading false news, serial service operation dimension, civil peace dimension and attempt to obstruct transportation.
In particular, as emerged from the investigation, the arrested person had sent emails threatening to plant explosive devices at the Athens International Airport “E-mail. Venizelos” and in six hospitals of Attica.
It is recalled that yesterday threatening emails were sent to Athens International Airport, “El. Venizelos” but also in six hospitals, which warned of the placement of a bomb.
The emails were sent at 09:00 in the morning to El. Venizelos and at Evangelismos, Pammakaristos, G. Gennimatas, Paedon, Tzanio and Errikos Dunan hospitals.
In the end, it turned out to be a hoax.
It is recalled that on Sunday an alarm was sounded again at the “El. Venizelos”, after bomb alert on a Ryanair aircraft. The Boeing, which had started from Poland, landed at Athens International Airport, where checks were carried out.
