a young man from Toulouse ready to take over during this period of duplication
Zapping World Fifteen “I’ve come a long way”, Mathieu Bastareaud revels after his comeback
It is a period that many elite clubs fear, that of doubloons. Indeed, Stade Toulousain, Montpellier Hérault Rugby, Stade Rochelais and Union Bordeaux-Bègles are deprived of many senior players for several weeks. In Toulouse, it is almost a complete team which cannot be aligned with the absences of each other.
At the heel, Julien Marchand (XV of France) and Peato Mauvaka (injury) will be sorely missed, but this is an opportunity for the young Guillaume Cramont to take responsibility and show that he can also hold the house during their absences.
Asked by Rugbyrama, the 22-year-old hooker posted his goals during this delicate period with the firm desire not to repeat the same mistakes as last season:
”We have all gained experience. Last year, we really had a difficult period from the end of December to March when we had a lot of defeats. We know that we are first, but that is not an end in itself.
We have to prepare well for the upcoming matches because we are all revengeful compared to last season. Chaining so many defeats at Stade Toulouse was almost unheard of. We were really not well. We want to give everything to do better.
Personally, I approach this period with more confidence. I feel ready to play these matches. I’ve made three or four appearances since the end of the November tour. It went pretty well so I can’t wait to be on the pitch to be able to show as many things as possible.”
to summarize
Guillaume Cramont (22) is ready to take over from internationals Julien Marchand and Peato Mauvaka during their absence. The young hooker does not want to live the same period of doubles as the last season.
