Brno – The hockey players of Brno won in the 41st round of the extra league over České Budějovice 5:2 and ended a streak of four games without a single point. With three goals and one assist, it is probably Jakub Flek. Brno is in 10th place in the table, Motor has fallen to 13th position and Kladno has only four points in last place.
Kometa, whose first attack featured fresh reinforcement Zdeněk Okál, got in very cheaply in the 3rd minute when Hrachovin couldn’t keep the puck thrown from the middle zone by Hrbas and the Brno defender scored his first goal in the goal.
The home team didn’t use this mentality. Pospíšil, Šalé and Horký could have increased the lead, but the goalkeeper from České Budějovice made up for his mistake with a conceded goal with excellent saves.
On the other side, Goulash’s raid did not end with a goal by Jihočechy, only in the 14th minute they took care of the equalizer with a hard shot from the center of Vondrk.
Even the beginning of the second period was excellent for Brno. Kollár moved the quick pass from Furcha to the speedy Flek, who shot through Hrachovina after a raid from the left wing.
The same player had the third goal on his stick, just as he was close to equalizing Percy, who was disarmed by Kučerík at the last moment. In the 33rd minute, Kometa survived a jam in front of their own goal, Pospíšil was fouled during the subsequent break, but he did not convert the ordered penalty shot.
Captain Zaťovič and Okál could have secured the two-goal tip for the Comets, but it was Flek who took the puck from the inconspicuous Hovorek in front of the goal and sent it behind Hrachovina.
Situation after two thirds Brno defends well and does not allow Motor to score a contact goal. Doležal scored in the 51st minute on the power play, but after 14 seconds, Pospíšil came back to bring at least partial peace to the Brno hockey players when he shot past Hrachovina from the right wing.
Brno eliminated the guests’ pressure with responsible play in the end, and in the last minute, Flek crowned his excellent performance with his third goal in the match, which secured the win for his team. Brno beat South Bohemia on home ice for the second time in this same game.
