On the feeder to Jihlava this year, the driver again applies restrictions
Work on the feeder already complicated traffic last year, the workers were working on the right half. This year I want to go for the left one. “We will transfer all traffic to this new section in March and anticipate returning to the median strip in early July to widen and replace the barriers. We would definitely finish in September,” Jan Rýdl, spokesman for the Directorate of Roads and Highways (ŘSD), outlined the work plan earlier.
Last year, the entire length of the feeder was closed, which was loudly criticized by drivers. Jihlavská town hall wants to work differently this year. “We will want the closures to be split into at least two stages to ensure the possibility of exits and adequate traffic service,” outlined the latest development by transport councilor David Beke.
The new facility is intended to attract blood donors to the Jihlava hospital
The newspaper therefore approached the ŘSD, whether it would be possible to accept this request. “The repair of the left lane of Privaděla was planned from the beginning in two stages, in order to ensure the traffic service of the Bosch industrial zones,” said the spokesman of the ŘSD Martin Buček and continued: “First, the section from D1 in front of the bridge in Smrčenská Street is being repaired. Finally, the remaining section from this bridge to Jihlava.”
In the following years, the dangerous situation at the highway exit is to be solved by a new roundabout. Buček estimated that everything could be ready for construction as early as next year. However, the opening will depend on the coordination of other constructions being prepared near Jihlava. The workers will then work during traffic with traffic management according to the current situation. At the same time, it is worth reminding that the feeder road is the busiest first-class road in the region, with up to twenty-seven thousand cars passing through it per day.
Take a detour to Třebíč
The construction of the south-eastern bypass of Jihlava will probably not be without closures this year either. “The exits to Třebíč and Znojemská Street will be completely closed, there will be traffic lights on the I/38 road,” said Jiří Salava, who is in charge of the bypass for the community of three construction companies, at the start of construction. Although the workers have already started work, it is not yet possible to estimate when they will close which road.
The construction of the V Ráji roundabout is also dependent on the laying of high-voltage wires. This should be done by July, so it is possible that the trips on the I/38 road for holidays to Croatia will still be partially unrestricted. “I can’t say if we can factor in the holiday season or not,” Salava shrugged.
Sauerkraut from the cemetery? Some Jihlavans are a storehouse of outrage
Workers will also work in Jihlava, but the restrictions will not be as pronounced as last year. The largest continuous repair is planned in Hybrálecká Street. The city, in cooperation with the region, will improve a roughly four hundred meter long section there. Reconstruction of roads, pavements, sewers and perhaps even public lighting will cost approximately sixty million crowns. The town hall has been talking about the fact that major road repairs will be related to work on the “pipes” underneath them for a long time.
Six million crowns could be spent on the reconstruction of the bridge to Sasovo, which is in a state of disrepair and will be almost new. The Old Brno Bridge, on the other hand, has to wait some time for its repair. The price for the repair rose sharply to double, and we also found out that it would be enough to repair the stone part. The town hall estimates this for 2024 to 2025.
