EC proposes supplementing aid for the Republic of Moldova with 145 million euros
The European Commission proposed on Tuesday additional aid for the Republic of Moldova with 145 million euros, informs dpa, quoted by Agerpres.

“We stand in solidarity with Moldova as the shock waves of Russia’s brutal war continue to hit the country“, the president of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, sent, according to a statement.
The European money is intended to combat the energy crisis and host more Ukrainian refugees.
45 of the 145 million euros of additional aid are non-refundable. Financial assistance is conditional on reforms in the economy, strengthening the rule of law, energy security and progress in the fight against corruption.
The European Parliament and the EU member states still need to approve the Commission’s proposal. The new tranche of funds would be added to the amount of about one billion dollars already promised by the Union of the Republic of Moldova.
